The Annual meeting of the Biosecurity Committee was held in Jeddah with the participation of a number of the concerned bodies

This meeting comes after a year of major improvement in the shrimp farming sector and the gradual return to production in most of the farms

The Biosecurity Committee responsible for the follow-up of bio-security in aquaculture projects held its annual meeting in the city of Jeddah on December 9, 2014. The Committee included the Bio-security Division in the Ministry of Agriculture, representatives of the Saudi Aquaculture Society, some of the relevant government sectors, and a group of companies operating in the sector.

The meeting discussed the most prominent achievements attained during the year 2014 with respect to bio-security, as well as, reviewing the state of the sector, both in terms of shrimp and marine fish farming and the health status in the projects.

In addition, the meeting reviewed the major steps taken by the Biosecurity Division in order to activate the safety measures in these projects.
