HM Undersecretary of Fisheries Eng. Jaber Al-Shehri opened a workshop of future trends towards insurance on aquaculture projects.

The insurance workshop is the second one discussing insurance programs on aquaculture projects held by Saudi Aquaculture Society in cooperation with Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

Saudi Aquaculture Society in cooperation with partners held the first workshop about insurance programs on aquaculture projects in November 2013. The workshop recommended the necessity to develop a future road map in the field of cooperative insurance in aquaculture projects.

In light of the comprehensive great leap witnessed by aquaculture sector in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specialists think that insurance is an urgent need to foster investment opportunities in the sector as well as participating in the sustainability of such projects.
