On the 22nd of January the SAMAQ Campaign was lunched by His Excellency Minister of Environment, Water & Agriculture Eng. Abdurrahman Abdulmohesn Alfadli in the “Promoting Seafood Consumption” Fourm held at the Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University. The campaign aims to promote healthy seafood consumption in the local population by providing them with easily identifiable mark of quality “SAMAQ” (Saudi Mark of Aquaculture Quality). The campaign also aims to increase the consumption of seafood through education program as well as social outreach through social media. The campaign will run for three years and hold various events for public outreach programs in the local shops.Currently SAMAQ certified seafood can be found in Riyadh in Tamimi markets and Carrefour.
