Saudi Food & Drug Agency suspends importing shrimps from 9 Indian states

Saudi Food & Drug Agency stopped importing shrimps from 9 Indian states due to the appearance of WSSV infection.
SFDA explained that OIE's reports stated the outbreak of WSSV in class Litopenaeus vannamei of shrimps in 9 Indian states;  Meghalaya)، (Andhra Pradesh), (West Bengal)، (Odisha)، (Tamil Nadu)، (Karnataka)، (Kerala)، (Goa)، (Gujarat).
The agency added that it suspended importing fresh and refrigerated, and frozen shrimps from the mentioned states until the stabilization of the situation. The agency excluded the products free from head or scales (apart from the shrimp stern and tail). Shipments are to be examined physically and in laboratories. In addition, the agency stopped the products prepared for direct human consumption (marinated, prepared for barbeque, frying, or any other  method of cooking), and products dealt thermally to assure overcoming the viruses through the methods stated in Article (9.7.3) of the health manual of aquatic animals in OIE recommendations
