National Prawn Company adopts the support of extending and developing the Aquaculture Farm in Faculty of Marine Sciences, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah

His Excellency Manager of King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah Dr. Osama Tayeb and His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Al Bala' CEO of National Prawn Company have opened Aquaculture Farm in the Faculty after completing the works of extension and development undertaken by National Prawn Company on 02.02.1434 AH, corresponding to 15.12.2012 AD in presence of Acting-President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Prof. Dr. Adnan bin Hamaza Zahed and Acting-President for works and cognitive creation Dr. Ahmed Bin Hamed Nekadi and in presence of number of university's officials and member of faculty's teaching staff.
This was within the framework of cooperation concluded between King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and National Prawn Company that aims at enhancing the role of partnership between both parties, as this farm enhances and greatly participates in supporting the scientific researches related to Aquaculture.
Pursuant to the national responsibility, National Prawn Company has embraced large number of graduates of Marine Biology Section in the Faculty and granted them the opportunity of working in the company. The construction works, which have been borne by the company, included the construction of buildings of laboratories, services that support the farm, development of shrimp and fish hatchery as well as construction of number of the basins that form the farm. The work is under-progress to complete the works of constructing more culturing pools for shrimp and fish farm.
