Saudi Aquaculture Society, represented by the Secretary General,  participated in the ceremony of recognizing international organizations and agencies  effective in enhancing development of aquaculture sectors as well as encouraging to apply the best aquaculture practices. The ceremony was held on the margins of Seafood Exhibition in North America (SENA) in Boston, the USA. 
This participation came according to the invitation from the International Union of Aquaculture to the Saudi Aquaculture Society to attend the ceremony in Boston, the USA to grant the society a special honor for its great efforts in developing aquaculture sector in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and serious work to support fish projects and farms to get the Best Aquaculture Practices Certificate "BAPC"
Global Aquaculture Alliance, in the annual membership, held a meeting within the exhibition events in presence of about 75 persons in order to inform all members about the latest updates during the last year. 
The meeting began with discussing the latest updates in Best Aquaculture Practices Certificate "BAP" program, new IPAB, the alliance's positon of social liability, the new online website related to basics of aquaculture with regard diseases management, and the call to the new website of aquaculture. The meeting schedule and the exhibition events included honoring the Saudi Aquaculture Society for its efforts  done in order to achieve the best aquaculture practices in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 
Secretary General of Saudi Arabia Eng. Mohammed Ibrahim Ezebi thanked chairman of Global Aquaculture Alliance Mr. George Chamberlin for this honoring and looked forward to continuous cooperation between the society and the alliance. 
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia achieved great development in this alliance as it conditioned getting the Best Aquaculture Practices certificate as a requirement of the license. Saudi Aquaculture Society sign a memorandum of association with the international union of aquaculture in January 2016 on the margins of Aquaculture Opportunities Forum held in Yanbu, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 
Signing such memorandum by Saudi Aquaculture Society is considered the first all over the world. This shows the Saudi government, represented in Ministry of Agriculture, interest in encouraging sustainable and responsible expansion of all facilities related to aquaculture in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (preparation factories, farms, hatcheries, and feed factories) so that all parties shall cooperate together to achieve the fish farms management's objective in reaching aquaculture productivity to 600.000 tons by 2029. In addition, it clearly shows that officials are keen on protecting environment through applying the best international standards and criteria in aquaculture to achieve the desired objective without leaving any negative effect on environment. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia seeks to apply all strands guaranteeing providing a safe healthy product with high quality before being put in the local  and international markets. This, in its turn, shall participate in fulfilling the rapidly increasing needs of residents for fish protein
